Getting personal here, but... my wife hates coupes and likes small crossovers. Luckily we both like hatchbacks. She also likes modern vehicles (gasp), whereas she married a man trapped in the 1980s whose hair came out of the 1970s.
When I point out cars on the road I like, I see a look of terror on her face most of the time. The kind of look when a woman thinks about how much cash her wedding ring is worth.
I should troll her and come home with a Paseo one day.

Future Mrs. Funk drives a Mazda 3 hatchback. I drive a Mazda 3 hatchback. That's where the similarities end. I want a ND Miata. She wants nothing to do with a convertible or a car that size. She doesn't care for my e30 but doesn't hate it. She likes my truck but doesn't like trucks in general.

She likes corvettes, and minivans. I like boxy, unusual cars; especially the weird ones. So...no overlap.

I’m currently single but going overthr last two serious girlfriends...
Girlfriend 1 tought tmy Integra was “ugly as shit”, so yeah you can see why that didn’t last (sarcasm)
Girlfriend 2 loved expensive stuff like me and dreamed of a black on black Range Rover Sport that was matte wrapped, I told her I would burn it if it was wrapped

I have a car; I don’t have a significant other :(
Though to quote one of my favorite songs from Queen:
Told my girl I’d have to forget her
Rather buy me a new carburettor
So she made tracks, saying this is the end now
Cars don’t talk back, they’re just four-wheeled friends

The last significant other I had used to get so frustrated when I talked about cars I wanted that were at least 25 years old. “All you like is junk” she said. Then we broke up and I found girls with junk.

My dog hates cars. He barks at them and won’t stop crying when I drive him in the Ranger.

The future Mrs. Chuckles likes anything with a manual transmission. That’s what she learned on and she won’t buy anything else. She’s got a 5 speed civic coupe and seems pretty happy with it. She loves riding in the Miata with the top down, but she generally doesn’t care what I drive provided it has 4 wheels and not 2.

My wife wants a luxury wagon. She also loves unreliable VW products and C3 corvettes. And I want a Challenger or a Mustang. The uncle she hates just bought a Scat Pack in black, and her ex husband that left her with nothing has a CTS-V coupé.
She also likes the Veloster, Clubman S and Nissan Juke, so 1.6l turbo cars I guess too.
Maybe if she wants a little hatch I can talk her into a FiST...

Cars and my SO don’t mix at all. No. We both decided early on in the relationship that it’s a really, really bad idea for her to get involved with cars even a little bit. So I keep them completely separated.
..I haven’t been entirely faithful to her though. The other one loves cars! She even grabs the gearshift when I’m driving and just knows when to shift and what gear I want. I couldn’t just turn her away given everything we have in common, plus she does all the dirty things wifey won’t let me try. I’m a scumbag, but I got the best of both worlds here! How can I say no to that!?

Travis likes taking cars that are considered too heavy for their own good and trying to make them competitive (see the Monte, SHO) and I like picking a slightly better starting point (see the Fatmaro, future projects will not be nearly as fat) and having an old boxy dirt truck/tow vehicle. Also he is two-wheels-bad, Chevy bowtie born and bred, whereas I grew up in a Ford Mustang and sportbike home.

My ex girlfriend used to hate my old cars. I picked her up once in my ‘73 Baja Bug and after that was the first and last time she ever rode in it. I sold that and bought my 240Z. I think she hated that even more because of the general lack of interior. It’s stripped on the inside and quite uncomfortable to ride in. I used to pick her up in it all the time cause her dad loved the car and that scored me points with him haha

She doesn't really like any cars that I dislike, but she does dislike some cars that I like. Her favourites include Datsun 240Zs, E30s, Mk1 and Mk2 VWs, 40 and 60 Series LCs, Series Landies, most small pickups, and she's been wanting to get an old Grand Wagoneer for a while now. I'm missing some other good ones, but the point is, she has pretty phenomenal taste in cars.

One cannot have it all, it seems.

My old lady can’t drive stick and doesn’t like stiff suspension. She’s got a 2013 Acura TL which she really likes and I don’t mind driving. I have an s2000, which she’s not crazy about riding in but appreciates in nice weather with smooth roads. She’s more comfort-orient (but likes fast cars), whereas I like a more visceral driving experience. Our happy medium, hypothetical perfect car to share, would be a 2011 M3 with the SMG automatic.

Mine prefers to drive crossovers and small SUVs for visibility and space reasons, but can appreciate the looks of small/sporty cars and enjoys riding in them even if she calls my M3 dumb and impractical. She has also enjoyed driving it while joking that she can’t have one because she’d get too many tickets. But she has started talking about getting something small and sporty for her next car, so we’ll see.

My wife doesn’t like cars that look expensive, BMWs, and Cadillacs especially, she also doesn’t like cars that are too round, like the Ford Edge, or new Beetle. for example. She gets she also gets that Hatchbacks are nifty, and she doesn’t like cars with boring colors. She wanted a bight blue, or purple, and we ended up with both. So for the most part I can agree with her tastes. The only time I had to disagree was when we were car shopping for her and she picked out a purple, face lifted 2009, Chevy Aveo. I “calmly” explained to her why I would not consider buying an Aveo. I may have been mean, and not calm.
The biggest difference, between us is, I want to spend money on cars, where as she would like to spend as little money as possible one them.

My girlfriend has a deep and abiding love for Mercedes Benzes with flowing shapes and I like the boxy ones (She’s also biased against the ones that become European taxis). She hates BMWs. I like some of them quite a lot. We share an affection for American muscle cars and Jeeps. She favors appearance and noise over the need for a RWD manual, though she can certainly drive stick. RWD manual coupes make me smile. We match up pretty well.

My wife and I both agree that Mazda has the best lineup of reasonably-affordable vehicles, and we’d be OK with owning a 1967 GT500 and a 2017 GT### (if there’s a 2017 GT500, else the GT350 is more than sufficient).
We both entirely agreed that the CX-5 is/was the best car for our needs when we shopped last year. She recognizes GM and VAG vehicles as undesirable, though some can be aesthetically-appealing or have nice colors.
As much as we both like crossovers, and arguably minivans, she loathes wagons (no idea why). She’s forbidden me from getting another Volvo unless it’s fully warranted for the entire duration of my ownership and comes with a free loaner. She sees no reason for me to have a truck (justified), or a Miata (maybe I could convince her on a Fiat 124 Abarth, haha).

so my car is pretty much the antichrist... she hasn’t seen it yet.

Mrs BJ is mostly indifferent. She likes hatchbacks and wagons for their cargo space in a smaller-than-SUV package. She also appreciates that the VW has great road feel and handling, but simultaneously couldn’t care less if she drives a car with no driving character at all.
A car is for transportation, and apart from safety and reliability, the rest is unimportant to her.
One thing she doesn’t understand at all is the desire to own a vehicle you don’t need. Project cars and weekend toys are something that don’t exist in her universe. We already have 2 cars with no garage or driveway, and only 1 parking space, so my idea of importing a 600€ Golf II from Germany - because memories - was most immediately refused.

Mrs doorhandle understands, she’d never let me sell the old malibu, that’s family property, she daily drives the 50 year old chevy if necessary. Mrs and I are on the same page about zippy, practical hatches and wagons. Me: manual at all costs, her: prefers a standard but not religious about it like me. many years ago I got her out a Buick into a really nice manual accord. she’s never going back. When i brought home a mach 1 that had been under a tree for 20 years, she was unsure. when I washed it with comet and rolled a yellow fastback out into the daylight she said “that’s kinda nice, yiu should get on that.”
